Have you ever used an export tool that saves to PDF, .doc, .txt, or any other format? Do you wish there was an easy way to preview the exported files before you moved the files to their destination folder? Well, now you can.

  Proof can display most popular document formats, such as this PDF. And when you click Accept, all the documents in the proofing folder are moved to the destination folder. It's the ultimate in simplicy.

  Proof is smart about things. That's why if you try to do something dangerous, like export to a folder with a duplicate filename or export to the same folder, Proof won't let your mistake come back to haunt you.

  Find Problems Early

  This document has a blank page at the end, instantly visible with Proof. Checking many documents for problems like this is what Proof was designed for. Just re-export, then click Refresh to instantly reload the document again.

Using Proof makes this a thing of the past, and it's really simple. First, create a dedicated folder to use for proofing. I use ~/Proofing Folder/ for mine. Now launch Proof and open that folder.

The next time you export a document, export it to that folder. Open Proof and it remembers that folder and displays all the documents in it. Simple as that. Now you can look at your files by flipping through them using the arrow buttons on the toolbar or the [ and ] keys on your keyboard. If you're satisfied, click "Accept". You'll be prompted for the folder to move all your exported files to, and that's that. It's nearly seamless. If you're a tech person, you can even set up a folder action to automacally launch Proof when a file is added to that folder!

Proof was build from the ground up to be a companion app. The guiding concept is the document exporter. For example, Ulysses, an incredible writing tool, includes built-in PDF, LaTeX, .txt, .rtf, and .doc exporters. But there's no internal preview, so you don't know exactly what the final version will look like like until you export it and open it.

Before Proof, I would export to a folder, open each file to check it, and it it was properly formatted, I would drag-and-drop the finished files to my school documents folder. Or even worse, I would export them right to the school documents folder, then check there. Chances are, I'd have to re-export the file several times to get it right.
