InCode: The iPad Code Editor
InCode is a sleek code and plain text editor for the iPad.
Featuring tabbed editing and easy browsing of file structures, InCode allows you to easily add folders full of files via the iPad's document sharing capabilities. Once on the device, you can edit on the go, and when you're done, you can drag the files back to your computer.
InCode isn't just for code - it can read and edit any plain text file, so if you prefer taking notes in plain text, it's the perfect application.
Be aware InCode will not automatically save your files, so you must ensure you save using the save button. An autosave feature, as well as many additional features, are planned for future releases, so be sure to watch for updates!
NOTE: To get around the inherent limitations of
Apple's file-sharing mechanism, folders must be added
and removed from the device as bundles. You can
either manage them yourself, adding and removing
".incodebundle" to add and remove files, or use our
handy Automator droplet. Just
drag-and-drop a folder or InCode Bundle and
it'll automatically do the conversion for you.
You can drag any combination of folders,
InCode Bundles, and normal files, and all will
be automatically handled properly. While on
the device, InCode handles the extension
automatically; the only time you need to deal
with it when transferring through iTunes.
